POOLDECK
- options to consider -

The following sections will take you through the process of how to get a good quality pool deck. The requirements and needs of the pool deck are important to know, in order to get a product that fullfill the needs – we will take you through the process, which hopefully will give a good idea of when to chose the different options.

Opening direction and deck cover layout

Unified platform with track on short side

Unified platform with track on long side

Platforms moving to opposite sides

Telescopic model that requires less space around the pool

Base structure

The base structure is the main element of the pooldeck and consists of high strenght aluminium profiles. Each idividual structure can have different dimensions depending of the individual pool size and selected options.

Assemblied base ready for further options or just to be covered by terrasse material of own choice.
The base can be assemblied with most common tools, but it will require some experience.

Tracks

Wheels and tracks are needed in order to move the platforms. Depending on the area around the pool, the suitable components must be used. The different options can be seen below.

Galvanized tracks that are corrosion resistant treated. These can typically be used in most water applications. Corrosion spots cannot be avoided, but can be removed with a sponge.
Tracks in stainless steel quality (AISI 304, also called A2). A more expensive solution, and mostly recommended for salt water pools.

Wheels

When it comes to wheels, different options can be selected from. With regards to the movement of the pooldeck, at least one side needs to be with tracks and suitable U- shaped tracks. The other side can be fitted with soft wheels, and no tracks.

High durability wheels made of dense plastic.
Stainless steel (AISI 304) track wheel
Soft wheels on the side with no tracks. Ideal for hard surfaces where tracks are less desired
Customized suspension option of the platform. Suitable for areas with variating heights.

Insulation

When it comes to saving energy on the heating of the pool, its good to have some insulation inside the deck. In terms of thermodynamics, a lot of heating is wasted when the pool water evaporates from the pool. In combination with the ‘Water barrier’, the insulation will contribute with less heat going out of the pool.

Insulation - thickness will vary according to the height of the pooldeck and individual choice.

Water barrier inside the deck

The aluminium sheets in the bottom of the pool cover has two main purposes. One is to ensure an enclosed cover, and not having rain and debrees into the pool, and the other one is to act as a barrier towards to pool water, and thereby minimizing the water evaporation and heat loss.

Aluminum sheet metal - Special aloy in order to withstand pool water

Brushes on the deck sides

Brushes will both contribute to an enclosed cover, not having debrees (minor sand, leaves, dirt) and posssible insects ending in the pool.
